That’s been done. Now, we need to take steps to prevent further downtime on the virtual server we’d been using.

So, the TLC has scrounged up a new/used server for use in hosting blogs and wikis. It’s a shiny Dell Poweredge 2850, and should be more than enough horsepower to run the sites for the 2010-2011 school year.

The server will run the web apps for UCalgaryBlogs.ca and wiki.ucalgary.ca as well as hosting the data. I’ll start prepping the new server ASAP – installing Ubuntu Server 10.05 and getting it set up with all of the LAMPy goodness.
